There’s pretty much no question that custom rims are the single most important custom accessory for any automobile. I happen to be of the opinion that auto makers tend to come up with less-than-cool wheels on purpose in order to stimulate sales in the custom wheels and tires market. From what I’ve seen they’re doing a great job because every model of car looks a whole lot better with custom wheels (usually a few inches larger than stock) and low-profile tires.
I definitely agree that a set of aftermarket rims really make a huge difference in the look as well as the performance of a car or truck. Second are the profile of the tires, they really have to make the rims to look right. Dont really agree about the car manufactures designing crappy looking rims. It seems they would have more to gain by designing the the types of rims customers want. The stock rims on the new Gt 500 Mustang and that bad ass 2010 Camaro come to mind.
